AILA Symposium on the Use of Learners' DictionariesEuralex Congress 200213 – 17 AugustIn the section on Dictionary Use of the Euralex 2002 Congress several researchers will present papers on the use of learners' dictionaries. In an afternoon session we would like to discuss these and other topics concerning the effectiveness of learners' dictionaries. In order to start this discussion we would like to invite
The symposium is meant to be a meeting place for lexicographers who try to make their dictionaries ever more effective for non-native learners of a language and researchers who try to gain deeper insight in the ways learners profit from these dictionaries. As to the research papers, they have to be submitted before November 15 to the Euralex Congress organizers (elx2002@cst.dk; see also the web site www.cst.dk/elx2002). As to compilers of learners' dictionaries, those who are willing to participate in the symposium are requested to make themselves known to P.Bogaards@let.leidenuniv.nl as soon as possible. During the symposium commenters will speak first, researchers will reply, and all participants can join afterwards in a general discussion. For all information about this symposium contact one of the members of the AILA Scientific Commission on Lexicology and Lexicography: For all other matters, such as registration, contact the congress organizers: |
